There is an update to LCR 1.10 around, which is to be found in the
testing tree. There are always updates for asterisk (1.8) and some more
available. Maybe you'll have a look at that.

IPFire 2.13 will get a new kernel which comes with a new media stack.
This enables us to update to VDR 1.7.x. The benefits are huge, like ATSC
support for example.
There has not been done anything yet, so if someone has interest in
updating VDR and the companion packages, please contact Arne.

We don't consider the update necessary because there should not be too
much performance improvement. However, if someone provides us a patch,
we are happy to merge that.
