Please write the version/release as follows:
version = 4.0.0
prerelease = alpha3
release = 0.1-%{prerelease}
thisapp = %{name}-%{version}-%{prerelease}
So we will be able to remove the prerelease bit, set release to 1 and pakfire
will detect this as an update then.
