This is weird. As soon as directory (e.g. '/usr/local/bin') contains the file 'ipfirereboot', 'mc' crashes while searching for content 'flush' (e.g.). Thus, I would say, 'mc' has problems searching in (specific) binaries - searching in '/usr/bin' has the same effect. And: The following 'paxctl'-options had NO effect: ... root(a)ipfire: /usr/bin # paxctl -v /usr/bin/mc PaX control v0.9 Copyright 2004,2005,2006,2007,2009,2010,2011,2012,2014 PaX Team - PaX flags: -p-s-m-x-e-- [/usr/bin/mc] PAGEEXEC is disabled SEGMEXEC is disabled MPROTECT is disabled RANDEXEC is disabled EMUTRAMP is disabled ... Searching in text-only files is ok, but as soon as directory contains the above file (or something similar), 'mc' crashes. This does NOT happen on my devel with 'mc 4.8.15'... ;-) Best, Matthias --===============5451656795181778586==--
