Subject: Toolchain Update August 2024

Hello everyone,
this is the latest toolchain update which updates us to glibc 2.40 and
GCC 14.2.
Although there have not been many changes in glibc this time, GCC
brought a lot of changes with it that caused loads of packages fail to
build. In thie release, GCC is much stricter about implicit function
declarations, missing headers and type casts. Hopefully we won't walk
into too much trouble updating any packages in the future.
This patchset includes a couple of fixes that are required to build with
GCC 14.2 and I have already cherry-picked quite a few more into next.
As Core Update 188 is already quite large, this is quite likely to be
merged into 189.
Best,
-Michael
