I'm a cross developer between two projects (SME Server and NethServer) and each project uses one of the two translations tools. SME Server is translated since a really long time with Pootle (https://translate.koozali.org/) it looks a bit old but it does what it is needed. NethServer gets its translations from transiflex...the advantage of the former is the community around. I saw some people coming only for translations. For a project at the beginning it is interesting to attract translators quickly.
