Subject: Core 96 and serial console

I have something weird going on after my upgrade to Core 96. I can not
say it is positively related, but would like someone else to check it out.
My initial installation was done via scon. Now, however, I have no
appearant serial console after the grub menu is done.
Can someone who uses scon please verify that this is MY problem and not
something to do with the upgrade?
I have looked around for any reference to a serial console in the grub
configurations (in /etc and in /boot/grub) but see no references to a
serial console in either of them.
As I said, I know that the initial install (maybe Core 94) was done with
scon since this device does not have a video output. However, that does
not mean that I have not messed up something someplace.
