Hi all,

While working to solve the problems with building the latest version of
autoconf I also had to have a look at lcd4linux. I solved the build
problems but I thought I should let everyone know what I found about the
status of this addon, in case you are not aware.

I found lcd4linux in Sourceforge but the last version there was 0.10.0
while the current version is a svn version of 0.11.0

There was a link saying "As of 2006-10-08, this project can be found
here". I followed the link "http://lcd4linux.bulix.org/" and it
redirected to a web site "https://www.bulix.org/" that no longer
mentions lcd4linux.

I found a link for a download
"https://ssl.bulix.org/projects/lcd4linux/attachment/wiki/Download/lcd4linux-0.10.1-RC2.tar.gz"
but this comes up with a 404 Not Found error. The same error applies for
any part of that URL.

It looks like lcd4linux is no longer being supported but also all the
download and documentation after version 0.10.0 have been removed.

It might be time to consider retiring this addon from IPFire.

Regards,

Adolf.
