Michael - Are you known as “ms” on the IPFire wiki?
Just like Linux there is “screen” available for free and it is already installed on the Mac. I’ll give screen a try and add it to the wiki as the primary recommendation.
They only difference is that a driver may need to be added to talk with various USB devices.
I’ll look into other free apps also.
