It has been an eventful year and we have come a long way. The Stats We have brought you eight Core Updates with probably the largest changes that= we have had in a while. A new kernel 4.14 [1] that is running better than ev= er before; we have had a spring clean [2] and remove loads of old add-ons and= other packages to make space for new ones as well as getting rid of some old= er cryptography; we fought Meltdown [3] and Spectre [4]; we have launched IPF= ire on AWS [5] and added support for EFI [6] and 802.11ac WiFi [7]; we have a= dded loads of new features that make IPFire simply better. We are all proud of our achievements and I would like to thank everyone who h= as contributed. Whether that is by submitting patches, reporting bugs, writin= g documentation and all the other things. You guys know who I am talking abou= t. Take a couple of days off and enjoy the holidays. Merry Christmas if you are = celebrating. Hope to see you all again next year! Twenty-Nineteen Of course we already have loads of plans for the next year. We have a bug tra= cker full of feature requests, error reports and ideas how to improve things.= We also hope that we can finally move IPFire 3 over the line so that the pro= ject gains more traction - and a new Core Update [8] is ready to be released,= too! We hope that our community keeps growing, more and more people keep installin= g IPFire and finally throw away their old gear. We have achieved a lot, but t= here is definitely loads to do, still. Please Donate Today Help us to achieve our goals! We are still running our donation challenge whi= ch unfortunately has not hit its goal, yet.
