So how many days of annual leave (if applicable) can you all spend on such an event? Don?t forget that travel might require some extra days. We will always make sure that the event either starts on a Monday (so that Sunday can be a travel day) or ends on a Friday (so that Saturday can be a travel day). Since I tend to be very bad at taking holidays, I usually have a plethora of vacation days left. Up to five is generally fine for me, though it would be good to have an advance notice a few weeks prior so I can resolve any potential clashes at ${dayjob}. > * How do we feel about Dortmund, Germany as location? Any city in Germany is fine with me, including Dortmund. :-) > * How much of your own money are you able/willing to contribute to accommodation, etc.? Would you prefer a central booking for all, or would you prefer to arrange your own? I would prefer a central booking. Any amount below 75,- ? per night is fine with me, anything below 100,- ? tolerable. > * What items would you like to see on the agenda - on a very high level of course? Actually, I do not think we would have a shortage on agenda items at all (and an in-person meeting would be great not only because of this reason :-) ). Getting everyone interested onboarded to IPFire 3.x development would be on my wishlist as well. Aside from that, I would like to see the forthcoming issues with OpenVPN and strongSwan land on the agenda. We discussed them last month already, but I have to admit that I was a bit detached from IPFire recently, and wouldn't describe myself as being fully up to speed again. strongSwan 6.x and the VICI interface changes is "just" a matter of understanding the new-ish interface (at the moment, I don't), figure out what needs to be changed on our end, and coordinate how to implement these changes - ideally, it wouldn't be a one-man show. OpenVPN and the changes OpenSSL 3.x brings is more tricky, since we cannot fully avoid introducing disruptive changes to our users, and time is running out for us. Perhaps discussing (or even starting to implement things) at the event will be too late already, but if not, I'd love to have such discussions in person, perhaps with a whiteboard and some good cups of coffee. Maybe I'm just getting old, but online meetings are a bit dreary to me these days... :-) On that note (and without any sarcasm whatsoever), looking forward to e-meeting y'all tomorrow again. To give a range, if I was paying ?30 per day it would be fine, if I was paying ?100 per day it would not be fine and with some form of sliding scale between. > > I would prefer a central booking. So with Berlin and Dortmund, a hotel room would probably cost around 80 EUR per night not including breakfast. As those are normally a double, sharing would bring down the price to around 40 EUR a night. We did use AirBnB in the past, but I have not seen those places to be any cheaper than a hotel in a very long time, but that would obviously very much depend on the when and where. >> * What items would you like to see on the agenda - on a very high level of course? > > I will have to think further on that but as a starting point maybe a tutorial on how to create patches for updates required for IPFire3 and which things should be getting focussed on. We do not have a shortage on things that need to be worked on. But I am not sure if those qualify for spending a large amount of money and time for the benefit of being in the same room. That is a difference for me. > Aside from that, I would like to see the forthcoming issues with OpenVPN and > strongSwan land on the agenda.
