Hello,
there are Open-Source Alternatives to Slack for example: https://about.mattermost.com <https://about.mattermost.com/>
I have nothing against this mailing list but when you have a longer conversation I think that it becomes a little bit hard to read, and for a conversation over the phone we don’t have enough to discuss (at the moment) :-D
But IM with Jabber is fine for me.
