- Update from version 1.24.1 to 1.24.2
- Update of rootfile
- 1 CWE fix
- Changelog
1.24.2
	This release corrects command injection security vulnerabilities
	 (CWE-78) in the mmroff, pdfmom, and pre-grohtml programs. The last of
	 these is a preprocessor that is run when groff or troff is run with the
	 `-T html` or `-T xhtml` options. The vulnerabilities are variously
	 14-26 years old. Malicious input can escape groff's default "safer"
	 mode, running commands embedded in that input at the user's privilege
	 level. The groff development team recommends this release to any users
	 who employ the named tools or GNU troff output formats with untrusted
	 inputs.
	Man page rendering is not vulnerable unless rendering (X)HTML.
	This release also resolves a command-line argument processing defect in
	 the gxditview program. It is not known to have any security impact.
	There are no new features.

- Update from version 14.5.1 to 14.6.0
- Update of rootfile
- Changelog
14.6.0
- Fix shaping failures caused by out-of-range glyph IDs, a regression from
  11.4.0.
- Update experimental beyond-64k support to the final ISO Open Font Format
  5th edition. This support remains disabled by default.
- Add support for the `DMAP` table.
- Support `FeatureVariations` 1.1 lookup variations, including subsetting and
  instancing.
- Update `VARC` to the revised variation-store format. The new format is
  incompatible with the previous one.
- Various `VARC` fixes.
- Fix background color and stride handling in the experimental raster library.
- Improve the experimental Rust shaper (HarfRust) and font functions
  (`fontations`), and update HarfRust to 0.14.
- Various subsetting fixes and improvements.
- Various fixes for malformed fonts.
- Various build and CI fixes.

- Update from version 10.5p1 to 10.6p1
- No change in rootfile
- Changelog
10.6p1
Future deprecation notice
 * scp(1): begin deprecating the -R flag, which is used to perform a
   remote-to-remote copy by executing scp on a remote host. This
   option is a fragile optimisation that is difficult to use because
   it requires credentials on the remote host. It also creates
   security risks if the shell quoting rules on the remote system
   where the copy is performed differ from the client's expectations.
   From OpenSSH 10.6, this option will continue to work but will
   cause a deprecation warning to be emitted to standard error. In
   a future release, the option will be ignored and will leave in
   place the default remote-to-remote copy behaviour (copy via the
   host running scp).
 * sshd(8): support for platforms that do not allow file descriptor
   passing and that also require root privilege for PTY allocation
   will be removed in a future release. Affected platforms are known
   to include SCO OpenServer 5 and QNX 6 but may include other
   similarly old operating systems. This deprecation can be avoided
   if the user community for these platforms is able to assist us in
   building alternatives, such as avoiding the need for root in PTY
   allocation.
Potentially-incompatible changes
 * ssh(1), sshd(8): compression will be less effective as a result
   of the change noted below in the "Security" section
 * ssh(1): destination usernames entered on the commandline are now
   more strictly checked and will refuse usernames that include
   backslash and dollar symbols. Usernames that are specified by
   the "User" directive in configuration files are not subject to
   these restrictions. The motivation for this change is mentioned
   below in the "Security" section.
 * sshd(8): on platforms that do not support file descriptor passing
   and that require root for PTY allocation, the GatewayPorts and
   StreamLocalForwarding options are forcibly disabled. The
   motivation for this change is discussed below in the "Security"
   section.
Security
 * sftp(1): more strictly validate paths returned from the server to
   avoid some cases where a server could return paths that could
   manipulate a recursive copy operation into writing outside its
   target directory. Report and patch from Junghoon Cho.
 * sshd(8): when GSSAPIAuthentication is in use, only store GSSAPI
   credentials when authentication has succeeded. Avoids a situation
   where credentials from a failed GSSAPIAuthentication attempt may
   persist and be made inappropriately available if another
   authentication subsequently succeeds. Issue report and patch from
   Moritz Theile.
 * sshd(8): reset GSSAPIAuthentication before authentication, avoiding
   state from one authentication attempt being confused with that of
   a later attempt. Report and feedback from Moritz Theile.
 * sshd(8), ssh(1): disable LZ77 dictionary coder to mitigate the
   side-channel leaks described in "Crossing the Streams: SSH
   Plaintext Recovery via a Common Compression Context in
   Multiplexed Channels" by Fabian Bäumer and Marcus Brinkmann,
   preprint https://arxiv.org/abs/2609.07709 (2026)
   A chosen-plaintext attack method exists which makes use of
   dictionary-based compression to recover secrets from one channel
   by interacting with the SSH session's shared compression
   dictionary through another channel.
   Attacker-controlled input can recognizably reflect into the
   total length of transmitted ciphertexts by virtue of LZ77
   replacing repeated strings with back-references into the SSH
   session's encoder search buffer, which is shared across all
   channels. For this reason, the documentation already recommended
   against enabling compression for connections that share trusted
   and untrusted traffic.
   This change will reduce the effectiveness of the Compression
   option. Users are encouraged to use application-level compression
   over the SSH protocol where possible, as this will typically be
   more effective and will be completely immune to this type of
   attack.
 * ssh(1): disallow '$' and '\' characters in usernames entered on
   the command-line to avoid usernames from untrusted sources
   yielding injection in shell context via ProxyCommand, Match exec,
   etc. Usernames specified via the configuration files are not
   subject this this control. Reported by SecBuddyF KeenLab Tencent
   (CodeBuddy Security)
   We continue to recommend against directly exposing ssh(1) and
   other tools' command-lines to untrusted input. Mitigations such
   as this can not be absolute given the variety of shells and user
   configurations in use.
 * ssh-keygen(1): correct handling of Daylight Saving Time when
   converting dates. Previous handling could cause errors of
   up to +/- 1 hour (unless you are in the Antarctica/Troll
   timezone, where the error could be +/- 2 hours). These errors
   could result in creation of certificates with incorrect expiry
   times. bz4004; from Khush Patel
 * sshd(8), ssh(1): ensure that compressed payloads don't inflate
   past the maximum supported packet length. Reported by Oleh Konko.
 * sshd(8): fully honor the authorized_keys "restrict" keyword,
   which was not being properly applied to tunnel forwarding
   (PermitTunnel, disabled by default). This is a separate problem
   to the one fixed in openssh-10.5.
 * sshd(8): correctly handle some options that accept "none". Some
   options, including AuthorizedPrincipalsFile, were documented as
   accepting "none" as a way to disable them; however, when
   overridden by an sshd_config(5) Match keyword, this argument was
   being incorrectly interpreted as a literal file.
   With Chris Rohlf in collaboration with Claude and Anthropic Research
 * sshd(8): On OS X SDK >= 27, sandboxing is no longer supported
   as the API we depended upon has been removed and no obvious
   alternative provided.
 * sshd(8): on platforms that do not support file descriptor passing
   and that require root for PTY allocation, the post-authentication
   sshd-session process retains root privilege, whereas on other
   platforms this process runs with the privilege of the logged-in
   user. When sshd-session was run with elevated privilege, it could
   perform certain actions as root and circumvent controls that
   would normally have applied to the user, such as making unix
   domain socket connections or binding (via -R forwarding) to low-
   numbered TCP ports.
   For this reason, this release disables the GatewayPorts and
   StreamLocalForwarding options and support for these (few)
   platforms will be removed in future if no alternatives to
   requiring privilege in the post-authentication process are found.
   Affected platforms include QNX 6, SCO OpenServer 5 and builds
   that were made with the --disable-fd-passing configure option.
   This problem was reported separately by sn0x-sharma and by Dark
   River.
New features
 * All: enable hybrid post-quantum ssh-mldsa44-ed25519 signature
   algorithm. Note that this no longer uses the "@openssh.com"
   vendor extension suffix that the previous experimental
   implementation used. Keys generated with the previous experimental
   support must be regenerated and/or removed.
 * sshd(8): Add the WarnWeakCrypto option to sshd_config(5). This
   option was previously available for the client only. This option
   is enabled by default and will log when the client uses a key
   agreement scheme that is not post-quantum safe.
 * ssh-keygen(1), ssh-add(1): preserve user-verification (PIN or
   biometric) requirement for resident keys loaded from a FIDO
   token, by checking the credential's credProtect policy.
   GHPR701 from Savely Krasovsky
 * ssh(1): include local and remote version strings in the ~I
   connection information display.
 * ssh-add(1): add a -P flag to skip PIN entry for FIDO and PKCS#11
   tokens that do not require it.
 * sftp(1): add '-p' flag for mkdir/lmkdir to create directories as
   required. This flag has similar ergonomics to mkdir(1), and
   previously-existing directories do not cause an error.
 * ssh-keygen(1): add a "hexdump" key export mode that dumps the SSH
   wire-formatted key blob in hex format. Useful when writing
   documentation, tests, etc. E.g. `ssh-keygen -em hexdump -f /key`
 * ssh(1), sshd(8): ChannelTimeout now accepts timeouts with
   fractional seconds.
 * sshd(8): allow specification of the location of $SSH_AUTH_SOCK
   used for agent forwarding using a new AgentSocketPath option.
   This supports both using a user-specific path, such as the
   default of a subdirectory of $HOME ("user:.ssh/agent"), and
   the previous approach of allowing agent forwarding sockets to be
   located in a shared directory (e.g. "shared:/tmp"). Sockets
   created in shared directories will be created inside a
   subdirectory with a randomised name. bz3860
 * ssh-agent(1): allow specification of agent socket directories
   using a -A flag. It accepts "user:" and "shared:" directory
   styles similar to the sshd AgentSocketPath option.
 * sshd(8): account for public key authentication "key ok" tests
   separately to auth attempts. Add a `PubkeyOptions max-pk-ok:nnnn`
   option to allow a number of PK_OK tests (asking whether the
   server might accept a given public key) that do not count against
   MaxAuthTries, defaulting to 6 attempts. After these attempts are
   exhausted, further attempts count as failed authentications
   against MaxAuthTries. Practically, this allows more keys on disk
   or held in ssh-agent to be checked for use before the server
   disconnects.
 * ssh(1), sshd(8): extend the existing TCPKeepAlive option to also
   support setting keepalives on sockets created for forwarding
   connections. Previously this option controlled keepalives on the
   connection socket only. TCPKeepAlive "yes" or "transport" enables
   keepalives on the connection socket. "TCPKeepAlive all" additionally
   enables them for forwarding sockets. bz3921
Bugfixes
 * sshd(8), ssh(1): fix configuration matching on more Turkic
   languages which have disjoint dotted and dotless i/I characters,
   specifically Azerbaijani and Crimean Tatar. bz3991
 * ssh(1), sshd(8): don't attempt to set TCP_NODELAY on non-IP/IPv6
   sockets. Eliminates some noise in debug logs.
 * ssh(1): fix case for ssh -G option output; bz4005
 * ssh(1), sshd(8): Fix ChannelTimeout specificity; previously a
   more specific channel type (e.g. "session:shell") could clobber
   a user-specified ChannelTimeout if it was less specific (e.g.
   "session"). Also, in some cases, the debug messages were
   printing 0 instead of the effective timeout. bz3994
 * sftp(1): avoid NULL dereference crash in some circumstances when
   a server fails a stat/lstat operation. GHPR707
 * sshd(8): close a race condition where a SIGTERM/SIGQUIT would be
   ignored if it was received by the server while it was processing a
   SIGHUP restart request. bz3981
 * sshd(8), ssh(1): check key and CA signature types during key
   parsing against allowlists (PubkeyAcceptedAlgorithms, etc) as
   early as possible. This reduces the attack surface presented by
   disabled algorithms. Suggested by and with extensive feedback
   from Chris Rohlf in collaboration with Claude and Anthropic
   Research.
 * All: switch the fallback implementation of the ed25519 signature
   algorithm used when libcrypto is disabled from SUPERCOP ed25519
   to libsodium. The libsodium implementation includes a number of
   strictness checks over the original reference implementation we
   have used to this point and a more ergonomic API.
 * ssh-add(1), ssh(1), ssh-keygen(1): fix spin on password entry when
   the program attempting to read a password was started in a
   background process group, with no TTY and with certain signals
   ignored. bz3995
 * scp(1): disallow nul byte in received scp -O filename. This was
   not reachable in normal operation. Reported by Chua Wei Xun.
 * ssh-keygen(1), ssh(1), sshd(8): implement a maximum number of KDF
   rounds that will be accepted when writing an OpenSSH-format
   private key or when loading one. This limit is set quite high
   (1M), but ensures that a service that is passed a bad key with a
   ridiculously high number of rounds will eventually complete
   parsing it.
 * ssh-keygen(1): bump the default number of KDF rounds from 24 to
   32 (this is a linear increase, not like bcrypt(3) which is
   exponential).
 * ssh(1): make StreamLocalBindMask properly respect Host/Match
   blocks and make it first-match-wins as documented. bz4013
 * sshd(8): make StreamLocalBindMask properly first-match-wins.
Portability
 * All: remove the NetBSD BROKEN_READ_COMPARISON workaround. This
   appears to be no longer required and caused pre-auth CPU spinning.
 * sshd(8): don't link sshd against libselinux when SELinux support
   is enabled (note: this library is still linked for the sshd-auth
   and sshd-session helper binaries).
 * sshd(8): allow madvise(..., MADV_DONTNEED_LOCKED) in the seccomp
   sandbox; needed by GrapheneOS' hardened allocator. bz4001
 * sshd(8): restrict mremap(2) flags accepted by the seccomp
   sandbox. Only MREMAP_MAYMOVE is now accepted as other flags may
   have some utility in attack chains. Reported by: Mohammad Hossein
   Abedini.
 * sshd(8): allow PAMServiceName in Match (regressed in 10.4).
   During the refactor of server option parsing, the ability to set
   PAMServiceName in Match blocks was accidentally disabled.
 * sshd(8): the --disable-fd-passing configure option has been
   removed.

- Update from version 5.5.2 toi 5.6
- No change in rootfile
- Changelog
5.6
Things You Can’t Ignore
    Shairport Sync and NQPTP have both been updated to Shared Memory Interface 11
	(smi11). You should update and install NQPTP first, then update and install
	Shairport Sync. Then, restart NQPTP and Shairport Sync, in that order.
Security Updates
    The default ALAC decoder is now from the FFmpeg library. The Hammerton decoder is
	no longer the default ALAC decoder for Classic AirPlay builds; it remains an
	option but is strongly deprecated for security reasons.
    A number of memory allocation and out-of-bounds issues have been identified and
	dealt with. Thanks to Akhil Koul, Yegor Yefremov, Dirk Mueller, Haavar
	Valeur, Tristan, Filipe and memoriaru.
Remote Control for AirPlay 2.
	We are thrilled to announce that remote control of AirPlay 2 players is now
		available. Shairport Sync has had remote control facilities for
		Classic AirPlay players for some time -- for example, you could
		control play, pause, skip and change volume via Shairport Sync's
		MPRIS, D-Bus or MQTT interfaces, but this only worked only on
		Classic AirPlay (aka AirPlay 1) players, and "Advanced" controls were
		only available for iTunes or the macOS Music app.
	Most of these remote control facilities are now available on AirPlay 2
		players using the same Shairport Sync commands and properties. (This
		is still a work in progress: the RemoteControl.Available and
		AdvancedRemoteControl.Available properties remain false in AirPlay 2
		operation even though the facilities are available.)
Enhanced Metadata for Airplay 2
	AirPlay 2 provides much more metadata than classic AirPlay. This is now
		provided in the metadata pipe under the copl (for COmmand PList)
		type, and on the D-Bus interface alongside existing metadata. (The
		sample metadata pipe reader shairport-sysc-metadata-reader has also
		been updated and a few bugs fixed.)
Improved D-Bus and MPRIS interfaces
	    The MPRIS interface has been brought closer to the true MPRIS standard:
		Volume, Loop Status and Shuffle are now settable properties as
		specified in the standard, whereas up to now they were read-only
		properties.
	    The D-Bus interface has likewise been enhanced: Volume, Loop Status and
		Shuffle are now settable properties. Most of the RemoteControl and
		AdvancedRemoteControl suite of commands and properties are available
		on AirPlay 2 connections.
	    The D-Bus interface has two new properties: NowPlayingInformation and
		CommandInformation. Both of these are essentially raw feeds of
		metadata coming from AirPlay 2. The only exception is that raw
		picture data is removed from the NowPlayingInformation and is
		replaced by a local file reference to the same data.
	    The MPRIS Position property has been fully implemented, for Classic and
		AirPlay 2 operation.
	    MPRIS and D-Bus interfaces now check parameters and report errors before
		accepting a command or setting a property.
Full Support for macOS
    A new native CoreAudio backend is now available for use with macOS. This provides
	full audio synchronisation on Mac. NQPTP has also been updated for macOS,
	enabling AirPlay 2 as well as Classic AirPlay service on Mac. Thanks to
	Filipe for their work on this.
Support for Multiple Instances of Shairport Sync
	This refers to the possibility of running multiple copies of Shairport Sync
	 on the same hardware, which was not thought possible. However, thanks to the
	 work of Haavar Valeur and Jay Love, it now seems feasible. Please refer to
	 the Running Multiple Instances guide for further details.
PipeWire Volume Control
	    Shairport Sync can optionally control its own ("stream") PipeWire volume
		or the overall ("sink") PipeWire volume of the entire system. Use the
		new mixer_type setting in the pipewire section of the configuration
		file. If no mixer_type is specified, Shairport Sync's own mixer is
		used and no PipeWire volume settings are affected. Thanks to gearhead.
	    pipewire = {
	      ...
	      mixer_type = "sink"; // pipewire mixer_type either "sink" or "stream"
	    }
Other Enhancements
    Improved handling of clock mastership changes that occur when a player containing

- Update from version 33530400 to 3540000
- Update of rootfile
- Changelog
3540000
 CLI enhancements:
    CLI prompt strings may contain escape sequences that expand to show state
	information. The initial CLI prompt is now be initialized the values of the
	SQLITE_PS1 and SQLITE_PS2 environment variables, if those variables exist.
    The default CLI prompt has been enhanced to take advantage of the new escape
	sequences described in the previous.
    For columnar output modes, the CLI now shows the column name header by default
	even if the query returns no rows.
    Use the new diskused() extension to implement the ".diskused" dot-command. The
	replaces the separate sqlite3_analyzer utility program, which is now deprecated.
    On unix, the CLI preserves zero bytes when outputing unformatted BLOB values.
    Enhance the .mode command with new options "--rowcount on" and "--titles always".
	The "--titles always" is now the default behavior (see item 3a above). Legacy
	behavior can be restored using "-titles on".
    Enhance the .mode command with the new --ifmt option and --fpfmt option that
	allow the rendering of integer and floating-point values to be more precisely
	controlled using a printf-style format string.
    The -csv command-line option automatically disables display limits, for legacy
	compatibility.
    The default CLI prompt honors the NO_COLOR environment variable.
    The ability to end an SQL command using the line that contains just "go" or "/"
	(for compatibility with SQL Server and Oracle, respectively) is discontinued,
	unless the CLI is compiled with option -DSQLITE_SHELL_LEGACY_COMMAND_TERMINATOR.
Query planner improvements:
    When doing an UPDATE on a table that has expression indexes, do not change the
	expression index if the value being indexed is unchanged.
    Improved optimization of "expr OR TRUE" and "expr OR FALSE".
    Ignore DISTINCT in the SELECT statement on the right-hand side of an IN operator.
    UNION queries with a LIMIT of exactly 1 are now handled faster and with less memory.
The ALTER TABLE command raises an error on any attempt to add, drop, or rename
	columns with the special names "ROWID", "_ROWID_", or "OID".
Add the diskused() SQL function as an optional extension.
Added the %J and %j conversions used to render JSON string literals to the built-in
	printf() and the format() SQL function.
Add the sqlite3_result_str() interface and use it internally to simplify the code.
Add the sqlite3_incomplete() interface and use it as part of the newly enhanced CLI
	prompt string management.
Enhancements to date/time functions:
    Added the "weekday -N" form of the weekday modifier.
    Added the end of modifier.
Use O_TMPFILE when generating temporary files, on systems that support that feature.
Drop support for WindowsXP and earlier Windows versions, including WindowsCE. SQLite
	for Windows now requires Windows Vista (circa 2007) or later.
    Improve performance by using Slim Reader/Writer Locks (SRWLs) to implement
	non-recursive mutexes, instead of CriticalSection, since all supported
	Windows platforms now provide SRWLs.
    Use the -DSQLITE_UWP=1 compile-time option for UWP and WebUI applications.
    To be clear: This changes above only affects SQLite on Windows. Builds for Linux,
	Mac, BSD, and other unix variants are unaffected.
The authorizer callback is now invoked for SQL functions found in the DEFAULT clauses
	of CREATE TABLE statements. This happens both when the CREATE TABLE statement
	is first issued and when the DEFAULT value is actually used, but not when
	reading the schema while opening a database.
Added SQLITE_LIMIT_SCHEMA and SQLITE_LIMIT_TRIGGER_STEPS to the sqlite3_limit() interface.
About 4% faster, as measured by counting CPU cycles in the speedtest1 preformance
	benchmark using valgrind on Linux x64. About 7.5% faster compared to one year
	ago (version 3.51.0). Your mileage may vary depending on workload, build
	options, CPU, compiler, and operating system.

- Update from version 3.7c to 3.8
- No change in rootfile
- Changelog
3.8
* Many improvements to floating panes:
  - new-pane and split-window can now set the title with -T and border lines
    with -B, and new-pane -W waits for the pane command to exit;
  - dragging with Ctrl now creates a new floating pane;
  - modal panes may be created with new-pane -O; a window can have one modal
    pane and it prevents interaction with the other panes while it is active.
    -C closes the pane when the mouse is clicked outside it and -K sends all
    keys, including the prefix key, to the pane. -D closes the modal pane with
    Escape or C-c. A modal pane is now used for the editor in buffer mode;
  - new-pane -A creates a floating pane which remains above a zoomed pane;
    modal panes do this by default;
  - move-pane and resize-pane can now move and resize floating panes, including
    mouse dragging;
  - split-window in a floating pane creates a new floating pane that does not
    overlap the active pane, if possible;
  - break-pane can float a tiled pane, join-pane can tile a floating pane, and
    swap-pane works with floating panes;
  - choose-tree -h and choose-client -h hide the pane containing the mode, and
    -k for choose commands kills the pane when the mode exits, which is useful
    for modes in floating panes;
  - command-prompt -P opens a prompt inside a pane rather than on the status
    line;
  - pane-border-status has top-floating and bottom-floating, and there are new
    default bindings under C-b g for common move and resize operations.
* Layout strings now use a JSON subset format which includes floating panes.
  The old format is still accepted; control mode clients receive old layouts
  unless they set the new-layouts flag.
* Add remain-on-exit failed-key to keep a pane open after a failed command
  until a key is pressed.
* Add support for themes and improve default colours:
  - tmux now has builtin light and dark colour themes for terminals with 256 or
    more colours; a new theme option controls whether tmux detects the terminal
    theme, uses terminal colours, or forces light or dark (set to terminal for
    the old colours);
  - styles can use new theme colour names such as themeblack, themewhite and
    themegreen, and colours in styles are expanded as formats;
  - the terminal's own theme is reported to panes instead of being guessed from
    the background, and inferred more accurately when theme reporting is not
    supported (Ayman Bagabas, issue 5343);
  - tree-mode-selection-style has been added, tree mode selection styling now
    covers the whole line, and built-in modes use improved theme colours.
* Improvements to customize mode:
  - hooks and environment variables are now shown;
  - e opens the selected value in an editor;
  - C toggles showing only changed items;
  - array item keys can now be changed.
* Hooks (and control mode notifications) are now handled internally by using
  events, each of which may carry keys and values as a payload. The control
  mode subscriptions mechanism has been extended to allow general-purpose
  "monitors" which check a format every second and trigger a hook when it
  changes or becomes true:
  - set-hook -B adds a monitor hook using the same subscription syntax as
    refresh-client -B, and show-hooks -B lists them. -T runs the hook only when
    the format is true;
  - wait-for -E waits for hooks, notifications or user events, and set-hook -E
    fires an event immediately;
  - hooks have additional keys available. wait-for -v can be used to see the
    keys sent with a hook event;
  - new hooks to cover areas including client create and destroy, pane
    activity, pane mode and prompt changes, pane movement and resizing, session
    group changes and window creation, close, swap and zoom;
  - OSC 133 escape sequences now trigger events: pane-command-started,
    pane-command-finished and pane-shell-prompt.
* Add switch-mode, a fast switcher bound by default to Tab for windows and BTab
  (S-Tab) for sessions.
* Pane scrollbars now support auto-hide. This replaces the previous modal
  behaviour where the pane was resized. With auto-hide, the scrollbar appears
  while scrolling or while hovered and disappears after pane-scrollbars-timeout
  (Michael Grant).
* Add a clear-on-attach server option. When disabled, tmux does not enter the
  alternate screen on attach and instead scrolls the existing terminal content
  into the scrollback buffer so it remains accessible (issue 5508).
* Copy mode can now automatically refresh as pane content changes with the
  refresh-on, refresh-off and refresh-toggle commands. Automatic refresh is off
  by default; refresh-now refreshes once and is bound to r. These replace
  refresh-from-pane (issue 5165).
* Extend the fill-character option so both inside and outside the window can be
  changed, with a new default for unused areas inside the window.
* Change show-options and show-hooks to use formats and add a -F flag to each.
* Allow individual terminal features to be disabled by adding @ to their names
  in terminal-features, and add a utf8 feature for terminals which support
  UTF-8 output.
* Add an appesc terminal feature for mintty's application escape key mode,
  avoiding unsupported sequences on other terminals (Pete Dietl, issue 5626).
* Preserve existing Ss and Se terminfo capabilities for cursor styles and
  restoring the default cursor (issue 5476).
* Enable left and right margins for WezTerm and Ghostty (Michael Grant).
* Add a #{A/count:frames} modifier to show a series of frames as an animation
  in the status line (issue 5412 from Fernando Daciuk).
* Change command templates so %% is escaped for single quotes while %1 remains
  unquoted, preventing single quotes in session or target names from
  terminating quoted command sections (reported by Aliz Hammond).
* display-panes is now a mode rather than an overlay, and can be run inside
  another pane. The -b flag has been removed.
* Add new-window -E, respawn-pane -E and respawn-window -E as more convenient
  methods to create an empty pane (rather than using '' for the command).
* Add capture-pane -I to include the time each line entered history.
* Various memory leak fixes from Heon Jeong.
* Add a default C-b T binding to change the current pane title.
* Menus now belong to the window, so appear on all clients.
* Dragging over an existing copy mode selection now adjusts it (Michael Grant).
* Rectangle selection in copy mode may extend past the end of the current line
  to match vi's virtualedit=block behaviour (Mark Kelly, issue 5227).
* With mode-keys set to vi, scrolling in copy mode now keeps the cursor in the
  same position relative to the text (Arseniy Simonov, issue 5216).
* Copy mode no longer exits at the bottom while a selection is in progress
  (issue 5349).
* Add copy-mode-current-line-style to set the style of the line containing the
  cursor in copy mode (issue 5391).
* Copy mode word commands now recognise all Unicode whitespace characters; a
  space in word-separators matches any Unicode whitespace character (issue
  5562).
* Add style attributes for dimming colours (dim=) and for hyperlinks (link= and
  nolink) (issues 4842 and 4280 from Moritz Angermann).
* New format modifiers: O: loops over options, V: loops over environments,
  the I modifier reports client terminal information, t/d gives a time
  difference in seconds, c/f and c/b emit colours, and the m operator supports
  multiple terms and fuzzy matching.
* Add or improve format variables including client_colours,
  pane_start_command_list, window_manual_width, window_manual_height,
  pane_last_output_time, pane_modal_flag, window_modal_pane, pane_private_modes,
  pane_output_generation, history_added, history_collected, history_generation,
  hook_fire_count and hook_fire_time.
* Add additional pane sort orders, and a z sort order for choose-tree so
  floating panes can be sorted by z-index.
* Add -f filters to kill-pane -a, kill-window -a and kill-session -a (issue
  4782).
* Allow server ACLs to use groups as well as users (issue 4917).
* The mouse option now defaults to on.
* The active-pane client flag has been removed.
* Fix send-keys -K so keys are inserted in the correct place in the input
  queue, like keys from key bindings (issue 3476).
* Fix control mode clients hanging on exit if pty data was still queued (Ben
  Maurer, issue 5356), and avoid sending notifications to clients which are
  already exiting (Ben Maurer, issue 5357). Queue notifications so they are not
  sent inside %begin/%end (issue 5458), do not let a stuck client prevent the
  server from exiting (issue 5444), and reset control mode offsets when a pane
  is respawned (issue 5498). Bound buffered command replies so a control mode
  client that stops reading cannot consume unlimited memory (issue 5565), and
  fix a collision between the output discard and bracketed paste flags (issue
  5622).
* Fix grouped sessions sometimes being left as unusable command targets while
  they are being killed (Bryce Miller, issue 5180), and prevent reuse of a
  session with no windows while detaching (Heon Jeong, issue 5620).
* Free wait-for clients when they disconnect and do not run their remaining
  queued commands (issue 5614).
* Expand formats in run-shell -c like other start-directory flags (reported by
  Saul Nogueras).
* Fix session alert flag formats to check all windows (issue 5599).
* Do not clear the marked pane when clicking on a pane border.
* Fix choose mode filtering when more than one pane exists (issue 5326), and
  fix an infinite loop in customize mode when a filter does not match.
* Preserve the scroll position in tree modes when rebuilding the list
  (Kim A Brandt, issue 5631).
* Fix regsub when the pattern is anchored at the start (issue 5341).
* Fix redraw issues around synchronized updates, copy mode, tabs, padding,
  status lines, menus, popups, wide characters and floating panes. This
  includes fixes for flicker with alternate screen applications and scrollbars
  (Michael Grant, issue 5351; Noam Stolero, issue 5350; Aung Myo Kyaw, issue
  5098), and misplaced wrapped lines during partial redraws (Ben Maurer, issue
  5625).
* Do not crash looking for the next or previous session (issue 5344), or when
  no client is available.
* Fix crashes when destroying a zoomed pane (Romain Francoise, issue 5591),
  copying from a blank source pane (Kaixuan Li), or opening a mode prompt when
  the client is offset into the window.
* Avoid an infinite loop when assigning a width to WCHAR_MAX (issue 5602).
