I completely agree with you.
Otherwise, without this type of operation, there are also content comparison softwares like WinMerge (under Windows) which also do the job very well (provided that the reference language file is up to date)

Hi everyone I think the problem is precisely in having two reference languages in order to have a shared and always aligned job I believe that having a centralized system where it is possible to translate the texts is the best way for example for other projects I use this system
but I believe there are others too

for the work we have created an internal translation management system based on mysql and simple tables one per language the reference language is English of course, those who connect translate the language of their competence, the untranslated strings are automatically inserted into English. in this way everything is always aligned, in the case of new or obsolete striges, there is an immediate response

Hello boys,
Technically we only have one reference language which is English.
German is spoken by most of the developers, so it is easy for us to add those strings.
We have a system to handle translations here:
You can login with your usual account.
The downside is that the web UI in IPFire 2 uses a non-standard way to form those strings.
It could be an option to convert to Gettext, but that would be a little bit of work. After that, we can import the files into Weblate and everyone can translate online and get the benefits out of these tools.
