Hello guys,
i've created a patch for the Dynamic DNS client for IPFire.
(http://git.ipfire.org/?p=oddments/ddns.git;a=summary)
My patch will add support for the very popular "dyndns.org" provider.
However I wasn't able to test my changes, because
I don't have any account there and I seems new members have to purchase
to use use it.
So, I need your help to test my changes and finally be able to support
that provider in the next major version of IPFire.
Best regards,
Stefan
Arne,
You wanted testing on the hybrid usb. How do you want the results reported?

Does anyone know if we have the ability to run multiple green networks
on a router? I have a current situation where I need two LAN's I would
like to run off the same router. They should have no connections between
them (unless I set up a firewall rule).
Is this possible?
Oh, is this even the correct list to send this question to.

tl;dr The hypervisor detection code has been updated and we need testers
to confirm that the new code still finds the right hypervisor.
Instructions on how to test are to be found below.
----
Hi,
we always felt that the hypervisor detection in fireinfo was not very
reliable and sometimes detected the wrong hypervisor. So I rewrote the
detection code in order to get better results.
If you just look at the data, I don't really believe that more people
are running IPFire inside VirtualBox than in Microsoft's Hyper-V.
http://fireinfo.ipfire.org/stats/virtual
Before we release the code, I need you people to check if this code is
now actually better and correctly identifies all known hypervisors.
Please help me with that and download the attached tarball and extract
it on your IPFire x86 system:
tar xvfz fireinfo-2.1.7-testing-for-ipfire.tar.gz -C /
Then run sendprofile --dump and search for the hypervisor, that has
been detected:
...
"hypervisor": {
"vendor": "KVM"
},
...
Please install this on your testing machines in a virtualized
environment and get back to me if your hypervisor could be correctly
identified or not.
Best,
-Michael
Never mind. I found Arne's post on planet.ipfire.org
echo 71 > /opt/pakfire/db/core/mine
pakfire upgrade
Thanks,
Rod

Ok, I'm doing something wrong. There was a problem with 72 where a new
ovpn client came back with a message "Invalid input for remote host/ip."
I know this was fixed, but since I put my router into the testing tree,
it did not update when 72 was released. So, now, I'm bit by that bug.
How do I tell IPFire to reload a version it has (72).
Thanks,
Rod
