Hello all together,
long time no see. I hope you are well. Today I am getting in touch with you because I would propose moving from Transifex to Pootle.
http://pootle.ipfire.org/projects/
Pootle is an Open Source software that allows people to translate software into many other languages. Just like Transifex.
Unfortunately Transifex is turning more commercial and therefore I would like to not use it in the future any more and set up a test installation of Pootle. It is used by many other Open Source projects and I think ready for prime-time.
Before we make the change, I would like to hear your feedback. Please feel free to create an account, log in and click around.
Best, -Michael

I haven't used the old translation system before, but as no one else has provided any feedback yet... Pootle seems to be nice and I think I have seen other projects using it, so +1.

Thank you for your thoughts.
I guess I will pull all translation strings from Transifex in the next few days then, sync them with Pootle and then we make the transition.
We will still need to write scripts to automatically sync the translations back to the source repositories. If someone is interested in helping with that, please get in touch.
Best, -Michael

I'm a cross developer between two projects (SME Server and NethServer) and each project uses one of the two translations tools. SME Server is translated since a really long time with Pootle (https://translate.koozali.org/) it looks a bit old but it does what it is needed.
NethServer gets its translations from transiflex...the advantage of the former is the community around. I saw some people coming only for translations. For a project at the beginning it is interesting to attract translators quickly.
