Hi all, i want to inform you about a new optimization wiki in german --> http://wiki.ipfire.org/de/optimization/transfer_logs/start and in english --> http://wiki.ipfire.org/en/optimization/transfer_logs/start .
It might be nice if you can go for a correctional reading and also a technical check out for it.
Thanks in advance
Erik
Hello Erik,
well done as far as I can see although there are missing some things in my opinion.
A more detailed introduction and motivation why to do that? It is not quite clear.
The guide is dangerous, one could seriously crash the system. You should mention that once but do not use too many of those notification bubbles. They make the text hard to read.
You used images in JPEG format.
Why do not mount it directly to /var/log? The symlink may cause some trouble.

Hi all, and a special Hi to Hilmar :-) it´s quiet nice to hear again something from you, if you are in a free time space let´s go for a little e-mail correspondation, what do you think ?
Thank you both for the reflection and correction.
A more detailed introduction and motivation why to do that? It is not quite clear.
O.K. i will give it then a try for more detailed introduction why it might be a good idea to use that way for CF cards.

Yes i think so but the second one is based on a experienced work out from 5p9 may this could help also to avoid a couple of hours to let the users find this one by their own.
You used images in JPEG format.
Yes i use this format all the time, .png looks more worse if i convert them from .tiff

I think this was the clou about this wiki to mount /var/log on a different place then on the usual one.
A Cheers back to you all

Hoi Erik, thanks for your warm welcome. No, i do not really have time, but i lately build up a new router with WLan, got all information needed from our wiki and thought it is the right time to give something back. So i took the time during lunch break to read and get back to business ;-) Yes, sure i like some communication via email
@Erik and @All If you find something from which you think it may need some english update, please let me know - and i will read and correct if necessary
Cheers Hilmar
