good remark in the wiki. But in the actual situation, it brings up another question. Not only i?86 systems are hard to get, this is true for many x64 systems also. Not everybody has a spare system laying around. Could we extend support of those old systems by 1-3 months? In terms of security it is better to use an old HW than an outdated SW.

There was now about one year notice and this is enough time to get new hardware. Even if supply is a little bit problematic it isn’t that bad.
This is the reason why we give notice to things like this and I hope that people take the right actions immediately or plan them and I would not like to set precedent by constantly moving deadlines, because the first deadline wasn’t really the actual one.
IPFire will continue to run for a little bit, but we will take add-ons down after a little while, too.
Everyone must upgrade. Lots of people are also running the 32 bit version on 64 bit capable hardware. The figures show us that there are only about <6% of people who are affected by this change.

I do not think that it is fine without the link. Pointing people to the right direction of information is not a nice to have from my point of view. Sure we send informations and all these stuff. But other people do this as well and inboxes are full of information. It is easy to say that people will know where to search, but usually they don’t. And I definitely blame nobody for this. In only rare cases the administrator will only work with IPFire systems. So forgetting where the wiki is, the information located or missing the announcement is easy and human. We could also link to the announcement, but that link at least I do not know now.
Just to mention that the other links in the warnings are broken as well. So once again testing with tools shows it strengthens :-).
